Biography

I am a native of the greater Flint, Michigan area,  growing up and enjoying life on an 80-acre hobby farm with my parents and four siblings.

I graduated in 1972 from Swartz Creek High School.  I earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at Michigan State Universtiy  graduating with high honors in 1976.  I went on to earn my doctorate  from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982

After completing a one-year rotating osteopathic internship at Lansing General Hospital, my wife Beverly and I moved to Portage, Michigan and I completed a residency in Family Medicine at Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital in 1985.

After my residency, I worked for two years in Plainwell, Michigan at the Community Medical Clinic followed by a year of urgent care medicine prior to opening my solo family practice office in 1988.

Bev and I have been married since 1976. We continue to live in Portage. We have three grown sons, a lovely daughter-in-law, two grandsons and a granddaughter!
